Photographic series

Once a year dozens of municipal billboard in Jerusalem is replaced by artworks to invite the viewer and artist to embark on a journey where art leaves the protected museum space. I was invited to react to Rehavia neighborhood by using six billboards.

The starting point for my work was the photographs of Alfred Bernheim's archives - black and white photographs from the 1930s portraying the beauty of the modern construction of the developing neighborhood.

His photographs enabled me to observe how social and political ideologies led to various construction processes. I combined his formalist- architecture photographs with a collage of National Geographic photographs alongside still life objects, such as jars of plants, insects, and stones.
